Every home is different, but many plumbing jobs follow familiar steps. Here is what goes into some of the projects Kansas Plumbing Solutions handles most often for homeowners and builders.
Typical projects
What the work involves
Gas water heater replacement
An aging gas water heater is removed and replaced with a new residential unit. The work includes reviewing the water and gas connections, connecting the new heater, and checking the completed installation for proper operation. A replacement is also an opportunity to evaluate the shutoff valve, drain pan, and thermal expansion requirements.
Pressure reducing valve replacement
When a home experiences excessive or inconsistent water pressure, the pressure reducing valve may need adjustment or replacement. The project includes testing the incoming pressure, evaluating the existing regulator, replacing the valve when appropriate, and verifying the resulting water pressure.
Kitchen faucet and supply line repair
A leaking faucet or damaged supply line can create water damage beneath a kitchen sink. The repair involves identifying the failed connection, replacing affected components, and checking the connections for leaks before returning the fixture to service.
New construction plumbing installation
A new residential plumbing system requires careful planning from the underground stage through rough-in and trim, including the under-slab drainage, supply and vent piping, water heater installation, and completed fixtures.
TOTO toilet and bidet upgrade
A bathroom fixture upgrade may include a new TOTO toilet or WASHLET electronic bidet seat. The work involves checking fixture compatibility, setting and connecting the toilet, confirming water supply connections, and testing the completed installation.
Gas line for an outdoor appliance
Adding a gas grill or fire pit may require a new branch line from the existing gas system. The project begins with evaluating available gas capacity, selecting the proper piping arrangement, installing approved shutoff and connection components, and testing the finished line.
